The games also make use of the Nintendo DS’s dual screens the top screen displays an overview of the battlefield while the bottom screen displays the individual Pokemons’ stats and attacks. One of the most significant changes from previous games is that Diamond and Pearl allow players to control two Pokemons at a time in battle, a feature which was not available in any other games in the series. Like its predecessors, Diamond and Pearl are set in the Sinnoh region and allow players to capture, trade, and battle a variety of creatures called “Pokemons”. The game was released in Japan on September 28, 2006, and in North America on April 22, 2007. Pokemon Diamond is the fourth installment in the popular Pokemon RPG series for the Nintendo DS handheld system.
